HARDREAMS is Melodic Hard Rock band that started in Ripollet , a small town in Barcelona, Spain in 2000 and they are back with their fourth album length release "Countdown Time". While they only have three additional album releases: "Calling Everywhere", "The Road Goes On..." and "Unbroken Promises", they also have a live album release "Live...On a Dreamers Night" and their first debut demo "Wings on Fire".  "Countdown Time" is a classic rock meets Melodic Hard Rock with some tidbits of classic A.O.R sounds. This album is eleven tracks and has a running time of a little over forty-seven minutes. The opening track "Fire Child" opens with a gloomy key intro that enhances the depth of the track. Vocals are clean and thick with accent also adding to the over all sound of the track. Vocals are gruffy, but they also fluctuate to add a high pitch. This track shows just how talented this group of guys are. The harmonies and melodies are beautifully combined. There is so much melody in this track. It's an easy listen.

"Fire Child" leads into "More than One Life", a love song that matches the melodies and harmonies of "Fire Child". The guitar between 2:26 and 2:51 is perfect for this track. It has a sexy softness that just completes what they started in the track. "In Our Dreams", the fourth track on the album starts with an intro from the guitar that extends out into the meat of the track. This track is a little faster than the previous tracks on the album, but still keeps it more laidback and easy flowing. The baseline in this track is nicely pronounced, leaving a heavier sound. "Summertime" was probably my personal least favorite track. The sound was just off from the rest of the album. The keys were nice in the intro and there are a couple of spots where the guitar is on fire, but the over all feeling of this track was not as great as the rest of the alum.

The last two tracks on the album pair very well together "Soul Mates" and "Lights and Shadows". They also are perfect closers to this album. A little soft, and little hard, but a whole lot of feeling were put in to these two tracks. "Soul Mates" starts off slow but gains a bit of strength throughout the four-minute track. The guitar shines beautifully along side the keys. They are the perfect combination. This is the epitome of classic A.O.R. Something I would expect to hear on my local classic rock station.  "Lights and Shadows" closes the album another gloomy key intro, except this time there is a vocal overlay that leads into a soft guitar and cymbals. The drums get a little heavier throughout as well as the guitar and bass. Both are phenomenal tracks that round out "Countdown Time" well.
