The Casualties - Chaos Sound album cover

My dear nephews and nieces, be prepared for some nasty chaos and adrenaline fueled music, because the savages are back! Yes, THE CASUALITIES, one of the institutions of American Punk Rock/Hardcore music are back with their new album, "Chaos Sound". And the album's name reflects what you'll find: the purest Punk/Hardcore music around! They are certainly not copying anyone, they have been running wild on the streets since 1990, more than 25 years active and still savage! THE CASUALTIES play their fast and unique music, with deep roots on works from the forefathers of style as DISCHARGE, THE EXPLOITED and CHARGED G.B.H., with some influences from nasty Rock'n'Roll like MOTORHEAD. Fast, but with some slower songs, as far as Punk goes. Furious, nasty, done with the same old attitude, catching and excellent guitar riffs, great chants, powerful vocals and thunderous rhythmic section, their music is really excellent.

The sound quality is almost perfect, a really excellent fusion of filthy Punk Rock/Hardcore music. They also have a great level of clearness, so their music becomes easy to absorb, but still carries that "street" sound characteristic of most 90's Punk bands. In "Chaos Sound", THE CASUALTIES show 14 assaults of the purest Street Punk you can find, so be prepared, because no song can be left out. First, I point to the fast and nasty "Chaos Sound", this filthy feeling is perfect, done with very good vocals and chants, along with excellent guitars. Next is "Visions of Greed", an addicting song with that perfect yet simple work from bass guitar and drums. "Running Through the Night" hits you with hooking guitars on some slower tempos, again, as far Street Punk goes. The apocalyptic and anthemic hymn "Brothers and Sisters" which utilizes some seriously addicting chants. "Keep Your Distance" utilizes some heavily Metal influenced riffs, blending Punk Rock/Hardcore with Metal. The same sound that gave birth to NWOBHM and Thrash Metal. The Hardcore rage in form of the track "Bomb Blast" which carries some of the harshest and nastiest vocals on the album. "United Streets" is a surprising track, like a musical poke in the eye. But please, if nothing else, do your self a favor and listen to their version of MOTORHEAD's "R.A.M.O.N.E.S.", a fine homage to the masters of fusion of Punk Rock with Metal! This album really in a good time to show the newcomers what Punk Rock/Hardcore is about!
