IMPERIA is a band that formed their activities in 2003 but the line-up since the formation was veteran in music. With musicians from bands like TRAIL OF TEARS and SAHARA DUST - the band was gave origins by the Dutch band EPICA. With a great experience in Symphonic Metal is obvious that they make always great works since your debut - "The Ancient Dance Of Qetesh" - and now they're releasing their fourth full-length called "Tears Of Silence" by Massacre Records in November in this year.

Starting with the artwork is impeccable, passing by the production that is balanced and clear, you can't tell anything bad about them. The line-up is impressionist and talented as well. Breaking the rules in Symphonic Metal, Helena Michaelsen doesn't sings using lyric tones, but using an aggressive and potent voice during the track in the entire album. Of course you will listen her singing with lyrics but the focus isn't it here. You will listen harsh vocals here and there and the orchestration made by keyboards is strong during the whole album.

"Tears Of Silence" is a sorted album with different styles within in it. You can find some radio-phonic songs like the single "Broken (When the Silence Cries)" and "My Screaming Heart", ballads like the melancholic "Away", that remembers the Finnish band NIGHTWISH in their album "Century Child" or the heavy "Spirit Chase (Keep Fighting)" and the classic "Broken Hearts" that shows all the power in Michaelsen voice. You can confer epic songs like the folk "Friheten Vil Seire" or to head-bang like in "Motherlove", "The Vikingsong", "Silence Is My Friend", with an excellent opening in keyboards or with oriental elements like in "Crossroads". "Wings Of Hope" with an epic instrumental and lyrics by Michaelsen are there too.

If you are searching some album that doesn't leave the Symphonic roots but with different vocals, I assure you, listener you will like the new IMPERIA album like I did.
