Echoes - Barefoot To The Moon (An Acoustic Tribute To Pink Floyd) album cover

In the music scene, there have been several iconic bands that mark generations and helped create the history of heavy music. Some of these would include the likes of LED ZEPPELIN, THE BEATLES, and the ROLLING STONES are forever to the fans. Other giants within music scene is the British band PINK FLOYD. They're one of the founders and pillars of one of the biggest movements in the history of Rock. I have personally been influenced by them, and later being influences in a newer genre called Progressive Rock. With millions albums selling worldwide and with a feature film called "The Wall". That is almost an autobiography by Roger Waters, bassist and composer of the greatest PINK FLOYD singles. Called "Floyd" put the band in other level. Around the world, there is millions of Cover and Tribute bands to him. DREAM THEATER recorded an entire cover album in tribute to "Dark Side Of The Moon". One of the most famous is the AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD that makes an entire gig with the same choral singers that recorded P.U.L.S.E. album.

I have heard in my life good, and bad tributes passing to the owner Roger Waters with his "The Wall" concert. Now this year with "David Gilmour". And I'm shocked, in the good way to hear this amazing tribute I'm reviewing. They called ECHOES, and they're releasing your first live album called "Barefoot To The Moon". I'm also impressed because I'm a huge fan from one of the members, and I did know they're joining this project! What a shame for me.

The artwork from this tribute is well done and, of course, makes references with the PINK FLOYD's icons like the artwork in "Dark Side Of The Moon" that inspires the name of this album.

With an experienced line-up the likes of Oliver Hartmann is one of the guitars and vocals on the Metal Opera called AVANTASIA - and with many resources, like an chorus and violins and pianos and all the resources used in the original songs. They're making a fantastic work in "Barefoot To the Moon". The set-list contains only the classics by the British band recorded in his whole career with a new incarnation, more clean and lighter, because is an acoustic project. With an amazing version by"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "Welcome To The Machine" and "Comfortably Numb" with a flute solo instead the guitar solo balanced with versions closer to the originals like "Hey You", "Wish You Were Here", and "The Great Gig In The Sky" that makes you goosebumps from the very first note. This album is one of best PINK FLOYD's versions I heard in my life. If you like them, and or just like good music, buy and support this tribute and order "Barefoot To The Moon". One of the best tributes released recently.
