Chaos - Violent Redemption album cover

In 2005, CHAOS began their Thrash Metal journey in India. CHAOS has for every bit of exposure they have had. With an inconsistent line-up and a lack of opportunities to perform, the band has really been in tight quarters in releasing music. However, "Violent Redemption" the band's debut album was released in 2014 and has received high ratings from fans and critics alike. "Violent Redemption" is described as "fast and frenetic with the aggression not compromising the inspired quality of the musicianship that seeps out of every track." CHAOS is influenced by bands such as SLAYER, KREATOR, PANTERA, and TESTAMENT, among other big name Metal bands. The band has also been awarded two awards: Radio City Freedom Awards - Best Metal Band, Jury Choice and Radio City Freedom Awards - Best Metal Band, Popular Choice, among being nominated for the VH1 Sound Nation Awards - Best Metal Act and Jack Daniel's Annual Rock Awards 2013 - Best Metal Band.

"Violent Redemption" comes in with eleven tracks and just about 32 minutes of listening time. The album opens with its intro "Ungodly Hour". A very low, sinister track that is more often seen in Black Metal album, so it was pretty misleading entering into track two "Torn", which is full throttle Thrash Metal. The bass line is pretty amazing here and works in sync and in perfection with the drums. The guitars are low keep the flow fast and hard. The guitars have some pretty amazing solos which change the tune of the track just a bit. The epic guitar and bass battle was an amazing addition to the track. The vocals are basic Thrash Metal screams, but he is so very good at it. From track one to two, there was a huge difference but a glorious one.

Track four "War Crime" is another track that has killer guitar riffs, wondrous drum play, and a great bass line. The entire track shows again, a love for guitar works but also allows for an ear party with the bass and the drums. The vocals are also on point.

"Cyanide Salvation", track eight, starts a bit darker than the rest of the tracks, but quickly turns back to its Thrashy sound. This track is a great listen because it is kind of different from the rest, and sounds a little more Rock-esque, with a Classic Rock flare.

"Violent Redemption" is a badass debut Thrash Metal. The production, the musicianship, and the creativity are incredible. Thrash Metal from India is legit and so is CHAOS. I am not the biggest fan of Thrash, in fact, for the most part I hate it, but this is the real deal. Check it out, buy it, love it, and make it apart of your collection.
