Rissna
Shit The Cow

From releasing an EP each year since 2012, SHIT THE COW has carried on this tradition with "Rissna" exposed on August 16th. The Swedish quartet thrives on producing an uncommon sound by the likes of Scrapyard Rock and hard-hitting tones.
"This Is The Shit" delves straight in with an old school punchy feel from the guitars and drums crushing together to form a rocky baseline for the vocals to fit to. Singing typically about Rock 'N Roll themed narratives of drugs, lifestyle and teenage angst, SHIT THE COW adapt these documented rules to produce nostalgic music for an older generation re living their youths.
If you were born in the 60's- 70's then familiar senses will be triggered whist listening to "Rissna", as an acquired taste is needed to absorb all perspectives. Keeping the classic Rock sound alive, "Common Enemy", picks up the spirits with gang vocals roared in the chorus, reuniting you with a strong bond of explosions.
For an EP, the songs followed appear relatively short, which is all part of the hard Rock 'N Roll feel, to get their music in your faces almost imminently. Not catering for a large audience but a more niche selective group, SHIT THE COW has produced a consistent sound throughout all three EP's that set them strong as a band in the modern day world. Not conforming to the mainstream music but keeping true to their Rock routes, it's fair to say that they are doing justice to Scrapyard Rock.
With a very short ending "The Pieces Of Lead" takes over, as all focus is drawn to the melodic side of the guitars and drums, as its overpowering vibrancy drowns vocalist Pete with their messy tone. Finishing the journey so suddenly, the structure of song placement was chosen with great care, as each track complimented the other, before finally finishing on a much lighter note.
"Rissna", would be considered to be their strongest going EP so far, but will SHIT THE COW ever make a full length album? Who knows, we may just have to wait till next year to find out.
