Arcane Malevolence
Ascended Dead

As the EP starts off, we find ourselves dragged into a void of aggression and painful sounds, as we enter the beginning of the first track, "Arcane Malevolence". With all great Death metal styled songs you will always have fast paced guitar riffs, brutal vocals and drums to knock your skull back and forth, from what I hear these guys have a similar style to that of BASEMENT TORTURE KILLINGS though mixed in with a very MORBID ANGEL style of guitar tones and drums.
The next track on the EP is entitled "Emanation from Below". As it starts, I feel a very strong mixture of influences from start to finish, though to be very honest I couldn't name all of them, though from start to finish I hear a very strong BOLT THROWER influence pouring through both the vocals and guitars as well as a VADER tinge, fast and smooth is a very good way of describing this track as it has the household feel of new elements mixed with old keeping an original formula as well as bringing something creative and brutal to the form.
To conclude I find that ASCENDED DEAD have hit the nail on the head with this EP, strong, fast, aggressive and original to heart, this is truly a very unique piece of Death Metal and I hope to hear more from these guys as time goes on, either way pick up a copy, see what you think, and if you don't like it fair enough, but if you do you may have found a band that will go very far.<
