All good things must come to an end, and the end of the Thrash/Speed Metal icons, RIGOR MORTIS, is a rather unfortunate one. Two years after the pain of losing their fallen brother, guitarist Mike Scaccia (may he rest in peace), the band has completed their last album ever as RIGOR MORTIS, and are releasing it almost completely by themselves. Without further ado, I welcome you to what is one of the band's best pieces of work.

Anyone new to RIGOR MORTIS may be slightly lost; here's a little explanation on the bands style. They like horror; every aspect of the lyrics is based on some sort of horror story or something of the aspect. "Poltergeist" kicks us off, the song is an obvious thrasher, it's incredible guitar work keep you glued, the drums keep you banging, and the vocals are old school. If there was any doubt in your mind that these guys deserve to be called legends, it'll be gone by the time you reach the second song, but we won't talk about the second song because that's no fun. Let us skip up a few to a monster song called "Blood Bath"; this song makes it quite clear that its about "serial killers" but that's not what I want to talk about at all, half this song is a guitar solo. Keep in mind, RIGOR MORTIS only have one guitarist and he recorded this all back in 2012, this incredible, hard hitting, face melting beast of a guitar solo has been sitting on a computer or flash drive (along with the rest of these songs) for TWO YEARS! I've never heard any recent, and even most older, albums with such fret work, not to mention the groove and rhythm sections brought to us by bassist Casey Orr who use to be Beefcake The Mighty, and drummer Harden Harrison. "Fragrance Of Corpse" has some of the best work from our rhythm section. The way Orr keeps pace with Scaccia is completely flawless, even in his faster sections, they scale the frets perfectly aligned like its nothing, and of course there's a monster solo here too because why not? Metal, right?

Thrashers, young and old. RIGOR MORTIS fans, new and also, old. This album is hardcore, one of the best albums the band will ever release, and although it's an unfortunate and very depression story, its good to see the band is putting out this final album that will quickly become a Thrash classic. Help the guys out, pick it up they put a lot of work into getting this all done without any label help.<
