These guys should have your respect even before the review that hopefully will be good, the album that I'm reviewing was recorded with the money of the masses, meaning EXIVIOUS started a crowd-funding campaign for their album "Liminal" and reached their goal within a week, just for that I say respect.
Now for the music, Progressive Metal, yes you got it and I will have you all know that I'm not a big fan of this kind of Metal as I'm more of a straightforward Metal guy, nevertheless all EXIVIOUS band members are far from being rookies, on the contrary we are dealing with some experienced Metal guys.
The album consist from eight tracks and because we are dealing with a progressive album, much lyrics can't be found here ,or should I say any lyrics, however what we can find here are some great harmonics. The first track "Entrust" caught me by surprise since I was expecting something brutal however the track delivers a more mellow broadminded experience on the verge of Progressive Rock. All in all a nice constructive instrumental opener. "One's Glow" delivers a more ingenuity to a new level, however I found it a bit brain troubling or damaging at times. The best track in the album for me come very fast "Alphaform" a more classic Metal / Rock with a melodic intro that follows the song is a really nice and ended up being a rather easy going track to listen and I think that statement trails most of the album.
This isn't a breakthrough, however a great album and even for a non Prog Metal chap like me it is an encounter that one must partake.
