Giuntini Project

I'm not familiar with GIUNTINI PROJECT, however like many other projects this one is named after an artist, Aldo Giuntini. After reading some info regarding this person, it seems that he is a well-known guitar player and truly a good one. This is the fourth release of the GIUNTINI PROJECT, yet this one has a twist in the image of the new vocalist in line, Tony Martin. For who that didn't recognize the name, I can't say much other than - what!!? Martin used to be one of BLACK SABBATH vocalists in mid / late 80s and up to the middle of the 90s. He replaced Glen Hughes and Dio, and received plenty of criticism that I think was not fair. Tony Martin is a great vocalist and I will also say that "Headless Cross", one of SABBATH's late 80s albums, is one of three best SABBATH albums of all time, all thanks to Toni martin on vocals, there I said it.
So back again to GIUNTINI PROJECT. It presents a straightforward Metal or should be stated as Heavy Metal. Similar to others that were founded by guitarists, there is a great emphasis on role of guitarist.
The album sounds like a classic 80s to early 90s Metal, bands like GRAVE DIGGER, SAXON among many. Tony Martin does a great job as always, reminding some of his days in BLACK SABBATH. Aldo Giuntini on the guitar shows his talent and virtuosity, mainly in the solo sections.
Don't miss "Born in the Underworld", could be a "Headless Cross" turnout, also "If The Dream Comes True", such a classic ripping of the amazing Randy Rhodes, maybe the best song on the album and if you liked this sing-jump to "Truth Never Lie", it is yet another classic guitar riffery.
Good production, great guitaring by Aldo Giuntini, nice vocals by Tony Martin and profound drumming and bass, make this one a solid piece, however it lacks the punch and fury, probably won't survive the test of time.
