Following right on the heels of our Sinister Haze release as well as our one year anniversary, we have two new releases coming up that represent yet another step towards uncharted territories. With perhaps more anticipation than any release to date, we introduce Witchhelm and Nightfear to the Graven Earth family!
Chances are you have already heard the name Witchhelm, as 2016's Dead Nights Of The Moon Fear was widely received as a standout gem in Doom / Sludge / Stoner circles and the metal community at large. Metal Injection described it as "!songs full of rage, the night sky screaming with spirits and devilry!and ringing with distance, echoing the somber cries of pain and loneliness." With "All Hail ! And Death", Witchhelm have crafted one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums in recent memory. A predominantly acoustic release, it carries all the heaviness and intensity of their previous releases, crafted into a truly mesmerizing journey. This Chapter is a dark acoustic album lyrically about Death worship and the conjurations of what lurks in the shadows and beyond.
The album also marks a first in Graven Earth Records history. Along with the cassette release (100 copies), we will also be releasing it in digipak CD format (100 copies). Both CD and cassette will include a free digital download on the album and it is set to be released on 8/25/2017.
Not to be confused with the Spanish power metal band, Nightfear out of Pennsylvania play a blistering style of Death Metal / Crossover / Hardcore. Featuring five absolutely brutal tracks (and a cover of The Misfits "We Bite" which is available exclusively via bandcamp), Cryptasm is a release sure to satiate the appetite of fans of almost every sub genre, seamlessly combining the aggression and sensibility of classic death metal with the angst and spirit of hardcore/crossover.
