Seeing the tag Mosh 'n' Roll on the back of a promo CD makes you imagine much different things from what you finally end up facing in Weapons Of Mass Destruction. With such tag, modern Hard Rock was the last thing I would expect to hear from THE BULLETMONKS (even the name doesn't exactly prepare you for something like that). Anyway, after my first shock we can move on to the review...

Based in Bayern, Germany, THE BULLETMONKS managed to sign a contract with the Austrian label Napalm Records for the release of their first ever official full-length release Weapons Of Mass Destruction. One thing I have noticed is that as time goes by, Napalm becomes more diverse as a label and has gathered some nice acts. Good job there!

Anyway, the German rockers THE BULLETMONKS are offering approximately 49 minutes of modern Hard Rock Music that draws influences from bands like LED ZEPPELIN, GLUECIFER, as well as the more modern VOLBEAT. This kind of sound has started becoming some sort of a trend and many bands have taken the specific musical path. I can't say that THE BULLETMONKS are one of the best bands in this category, but they surely are a decent act with potential to do much better things in the future. Armed with a great production, their loud rocking guitars sound really good and the whole thing is completed by Tyler's vocals which are pretty good, but in my opinion could use some extra dirt.

The fact is that there are a few songs that may attract your attention, but the album overall is not the release that will convince you to listen to it again and again without getting bored at some point. Let's see what surprises the future hides for this quartet.
